🌞 THE ESSENCE OF MIASMA 🌞
Miasma: an oppressive or unpleasant atmosphere which surrounds or emanates from something. Variously described as "unhealthy fog," a poisonous vapor, or mist filled with particles from decomposed matter, prior to Germ Theory it was believed to cause disease. More recently, It has come to mean a spiritual or energetic ambiance that saps or blocks one's ability to fully function.
The zone has been flooded with shit, and we live surrounded by its fumes, which are designed to confuse and disempower us, the body politic.
But Sunlight is the best damn disinfectant.
🔥 RITUAL REQUIREMENTS 🔥
You will need:
A yellow candle
A magnifying glass
A fireproof dish
Tinder and kindling
✨ PREPARATION & INTENTION ✨
This ritual uses the Witches' Pyramid as a template. (To Know, to Will, to Dare, to Keep Silent) In preparation for this ritual, please give thought to those things in your life that relate to the concept of Miasma and how it interferes with the four aspects of the pyramid.
What is confusing you? (To Know)
What is draining you? (To Will)
What is keeping you from acting, keeping you stuck? (To Dare)
What mental chatter is occupying your mind, to the detriment of your ability to function? (To Keep Silent)
Write them down on a slip of paper or index card and bring it to the ritual, along with the yellow candle. Remember that the more energy & focus you put into this ritual, the more fucking effect it will have on you.
🔆 PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS 🔆
Pro tip: You can't light the candle using the magnifying glass & sunlight. If you're not into crafts, use a small pile of crumpled paper and twigs or wood shavings in the fireproof bowl.
But if you are crafty, you can make a witches' pyramid from toothpicks or kitchen matches and glue with the match heads at the tip of the pyramid, which will speed the process of generating fire from sunlight considerably. Filling the pyramid with crumpled paper and twigs or wood shavings will help it burn longer to get the candle lit.
Or, if you are not long on patience, just hold a match up to the focal point of the magnified light. Preferably a wooden match, not a teeny paper one, to save your fingers.
Solstice is 1:05 PM EDT on Friday, June 20. Time will vary slightly, based upon your time zone.
If you do not have enough time to do the whole ritual at the moment of the solstice, light the candle beforehand, as close to Solstice as possible, using sunlight captured through the magnifying glass, then put the candle out until you are ready to do the ritual. The energy lives in the wick. Or, if none of this is possible, just light the damn candle whenever, however.

🌈 RITUAL PROCESS 🌈
Cast a circle, if that is part of your practice.
Light the candle
Read the Statement of Intent:
"I burn those things that do not serve me, calling upon the fire of the Sun to dispel this miasma, as sunlight dispels fog. I then draw down the Sun's energy to cleanse & energize me."
One at a time, name and banish each of the four issues you have identified, using full intent:
"_________ , I banish you from my life."
When you have completed the four statements, burn the list, lighting it from the candle and letting it burn out in the dish.
When the list is reduced to ash, focus your attention on the candle flame and state:
"I call upon the power of the Sun to energize me and grant me clarity." (Repeat 3 times)
So mote it be.
Dismiss the circle, if you have cast one.
Keep the candle, and relight it whenever you need to reinforce the intent of this ritual. (Yeah, you can use a match or lighter.) If needed, you can create more sun candles by lighting them from the original candle.
