Meditation: June 1st, 2025
"The earth whispers her ancient songs to those who walk barefoot upon her sacred ground, for in touching her skin, we remember our own wild nature."
Physical Setting & Preparation
Find yourself in a place where the early summer sun can touch your skin—perhaps a garden where flowers are beginning their full bloom, or near a window where morning light streams through. If possible, place your bare feet upon grass, earth, or stone. Allow your hands to rest palm-down on a natural surface. Feel the warmth of June's first day as it awakens the world around you. The air carries the scent of growing things, of rain-washed leaves, and the promise of summer's abundance.

Today we work with the energies of early summer and the emotional currents of yearning and vivacious spirit that flow through us like sap through awakening trees.
Opening Invocation | Fosgladh
Màthair na Talmhainn, glacaibh sinn
Mother of Earth, receive us
Ann an làithean fada an t-samhraidh
In the long days of summer
Tha sinn a' tighinn thugaibh le cridhe fosgailte
We come to you with open hearts
Ag iarraidh do shealbh agus do shlàinte
Seeking your possession and your healing
Place your hands upon the earth or upon your heart. Feel the pulse of life that runs from the Mother's core through root and stem, through your own veins. On this first day of June, as the world reaches toward the height of its growing power, we acknowledge the yearning that pulls us forward like shoots toward sunlight, and the vivacious energy that dances in our cells like summer rain on warm stone.
Body of the Working | Corp
Anns a' mhadainn Ògmhios
In the June morning
Tha a' ghrian ag èirigh àrd
The sun rises high
Breathe deeply the air of early summer. With each breath, draw in the scent of honeysuckle and wild roses, the green smell of growing grass, the warm earth exhaling yesterday's rain. Feel how the season itself carries both yearning and vivacious life—the yearning of buds that have waited through winter's darkness, now bursting into bloom; the vivacious celebration of leaves unfurling in the extended light.
Your yearning is the same force that pulls the sunflower's face toward the dawn, that sends the oak's roots deep into dark soil seeking nourishment. This is not emptiness seeking to be filled, but life seeking to express itself more fully. Feel this yearning in your chest, this holy dissatisfaction that drives all growth.
Tha mi ag iarraidh
I am yearning
Mar a tha an craobh ag iarraidh na grèine
As the tree yearns for the sun
And alongside this yearning, feel the vivacious energy that June brings—the irrepressible life force that makes wildflowers push through concrete, that fills the evening air with the calls of birds drunk on summer's possibility. This vivacious spirit is the Earth Mother's laughter, her joy made manifest in every blade of grass, every unfurling fern.
The Deep Working | An Obair Dhomhain
Sìos, sìos gu cridhe na Màthar
Down, down to the Mother's heart
Far a bheil gach nì air a nasgadh
Where all things are connected
Now descend with your awareness into the deep places where the Mother's healing flows. Imagine yourself as a seed that has carried both yearning and vivacious potential through winter's long dreaming. The yearning was your compass, pointing always toward the light you had never seen but somehow knew. The vivacious energy was your stored sunlight, your inherited fire.
See yourself breaking open in the dark soil—not breaking apart, but breaking open, the way dawn breaks open the night. Your yearning becomes the first pale shoot pushing upward through layers of earth, drawn by an ancient calling. Your vivacious nature becomes the green explosion of your first leaves meeting air and light.
Tha a' Mhàthair gam shlànachadh
The Mother is healing me
Le gaol do-chrìochnach
With endless love
Feel the Mother's healing entering through your connection to earth and growing things. She heals the pain of yearning by showing you that longing itself is sacred—it is the force that created mountains, carved rivers, lifted forests toward stars. She heals the exhaustion that sometimes follows vivacious periods by reminding you that even the most energetic wildflower rests in winter's embrace.
Your emotions are not separate from nature—they ARE nature. Your yearning is the same force that makes rivers seek the sea, that makes every living thing reach beyond its current boundaries. Your vivacious energy is the same power that makes spring return year after year, that fills summer evenings with fireflies and cricket song.
Let the Mother's love flow through you like groundwater feeding hidden springs. You are not broken when you yearn; you are participating in the universe's endless creativity. You are not too much when you feel vivacious; you are embodying life's essential exuberance.
Afterthought | Smuain Dheiridh
Dè a dh'ionnsaich thu an-diugh?
What did you learn today?
Mu dheidhinn gaol na Màthar?
About the Mother's love?
Take a moment to contemplate:
How does recognizing your yearning and vivacious nature as expressions of the Earth's own creative force change your relationship with these feelings? What would it mean to honor your emotional landscape as sacred terrain, worthy of the same reverence you would give to a forest or mountain?
Closing Blessing | Beannachd Dheiridh
Beannachd na Màthar ort
The Mother's blessing upon you
Anns gach là a thig
In every day to come
Gus am till sinn a-rithist
Until we return again
Gu àite naomh a' ghaoil
To the holy place of love
May you carry with you the understanding that your deepest feelings are threads in the great tapestry of life. May your yearning guide you like a compass toward your truest growth, and may your vivacious spirit remind you always of the irrepressible joy that flows beneath all existence.
Go well, beloved child of Earth. The Mother's healing goes with you.
Slàn leat
Farewell
Thanks Wendy!
