Orville, California: 2 Students in Critical Condition
What in the serious fuck people?
Orville, California
Can we please just stop killing each other? And our kids, can we keep them safe please? As a mother, I read this stuff and it just kills me. There has been yet again, another School Shooting, only this time in California.
As of 2024, the U.S. has seen 58 school shootings in K-12 schools and colleges, which is actually down from the 82 that happened in 2023. While that's a bit of good news, the bigger picture is still concerning—school shootings have skyrocketed over the decades, increasing more than twelvefold since the 1970s. It’s a stark reminder that gun violence in schools is still a huge problem that needs serious attention.
This Trans-Mom is going to say it plain as I can……
School shootings happen because of a f*ed-up mix of issues that no one seems to want to deal with properly. You’ve got shty access to mental health care, easy-as-hell access to guns, and a culture that glorifies violence like it’s some kind of twisted badge of honor. Add to that the fact that schools are often underfunded and can’t deal with kids’ emotional needs, and you get a recipe for disaster. Politicians just keep pointing fingers and doing jack sh** about it, while people argue endlessly instead of fixing the damn problem. It’s like everyone knows what’s wrong, but no one’s got the balls to actually do something.
Can we stop please? What will it take? Can someone tell me me please?
