Sitting in my cubicle preparing for my 1 on 1 with my manager so that we can talk about about how the fuck we managed to hire a “bad actor” , and not like the bad actor Jean Claude…but the bad actor like SUPERH4XORW4NN4BE type.

Stand Up Fight Back

Stand Up Fight Back

When Democracy is under attack what do we do? Stand Up Fight Back!

❄️ Weather Check ❄️

Atlanta: 34°, sunny — cold and clear, same as a democracy quietly catching fever.

Detroit: 22°, cloudy — gray pressing down like a Senate afraid to call suppression by name.

Kansas City: 21°, cloudy — bitter morning; trans Kansans woke up with state-invalidated IDs.

New York: 34°, sunny — bright enough to see; cold enough to know clarity has a price.

San Francisco: 56°, sunny — the city where Kameny walked and refused to fold.

Miami: 69°, cloudy — warm under gray, like the truth about a war nobody asked for.

The Daily Gathering

An intel chief quits over a war started for a foreign lobby. The Senate tries to gut your ballot. The networks gave the planet eight hours of airtime all year. It's Tuesday and we're burning.

Editor's note: St. Patrick's Day — the green is out, the truth is louder and less welcome.

The Brief

The Brief

The day's top headlines, curated by TIME editors.

The Vote They Are Trying to Steal Before You Even Cast It

The land remembers every Jim Crow poll tax — and now the Senate hosts the SAVE America Act this week, a shit-gargling fuck-stick of a bill that requires in-person passport or birth certificate presentation to register, photo ID copies with every absentee ballot, voter rolls handed to a DHS database that has already misidentified citizens, and election workers criminalized — five years in prison — for registering citizens without the right papers.

What he said: Trump told Republican lawmakers this bill would guarantee the GOP would "never lose a race. For 50 years." That is an autocrat announcing a rigged game.

The damage:

  • Human cost: 21 million Americans can't easily access these documents — people of color, elderly voters, anyone who's changed their name.

  • Pattern: Trump also demanded a near-total ban on mail voting in 36 states — then openly bragged it guarantees Republican dominance for a generation.

  • Action: Call your Senator. Campaign Legal Center is in the fight.

The Planet Is Burning & No One In Power Cares

The ground has been shifting for thirty years — river becomes flood, forest becomes smoke — and ABC, CBS, and NBC spent a combined 8 hours and 25 minutes covering the climate crisis in all of 2025.

Evidence:

  • Scale: 201 total climate segments in 2025 — a 35% decline from 2024, and a collapse from the 23 hours the three networks managed in 2022.

  • What they covered: Mostly single events — LA wildfires, Hurricane Melissa — not the fossil fuels driving them. Root causes got 15% of total airtime.

  • Expert voice: NBC meteorologist Chase Cain resigned last month, telling HEATED he was exhausted by the constant fight to get climate stories on air.

The networks gave the planet's most urgent crisis the coverage of a slow Tuesday because the people who own them profit from the status quo — and fuck whatever the land remembers about ice that used to exist.

Sometimes They Do Come Back

Warren Throckmorton was a straight, evangelical psychologist who built part of the conversion therapy apparatus in the 1990s — producing a documentary, promoting "sexual reorientation" as legitimate clinical practice, helping architect an industry of harm from inside psychology itself.

Stakes:

  • Scale: By 2019, nearly 700,000 LGBTQ+ adults had undergone conversion therapy; 57,000 youth will still face it before 18; subjected youth show measurably higher rates of suicidal ideation.

  • The turn: By the mid-2000s, Throckmorton discovered 4 of the 5 subjects in his documentary had not changed their orientation. He pulled the film in 2007, publicly rejected the practice, and has since written that "some people are inherently gay."

What the fuck does it mean that it took a straight man admitting error to move a field that had spent decades torturing queer people? It means Kameny had won the argument in 1973 — and these cock-juggling thunder-cunts just kept building the machine anyway, because the harm was happening to other people's children.

Movement: Trevor Project crisis line: 1-866-488-7386. PFLAG supports families. The Supreme Court is weighing a conversion therapy case right now. lgbtqnation.com

Life Survival: Resistance

"It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences." — Frank Kameny, astronomer and federal activist — the conviction that queerness was not disorder but dignity, carried from 1957 until his death in 2011.

Survival wisdom: Kameny didn't request tolerance — he demanded recognition of what was already true. Sued the government alone, no money, no permission, refused to frame it as a mercy plea. When the world names your existence disordered, you don't argue the framing. You dismantle it brick by fucking brick.

Community, Culture & Nature

Community / Culture

Hacks & Food

Battery

Phone battery dying before noon → Enable Low Power Mode before 50% — not 20% — and kill Background App Refresh for every app you don't need updating live. Gains two to three real hours. Feeling: One less thing eating at you.

Streaming subscriptions stacking to $80+/month → Rotate instead of stack: one platform, two months, cancel, next one. Four services a year for roughly $180 instead of $720–$900 for four you half-watch. Feeling: The money you just found is real and it's yours.

Produce going soft mid-week → Seal leafy greens in a container with a dry paper towel to absorb moisture; store herbs stem-down in a glass of water in the fridge. Shelf life doubles. Feeling: Smug satisfaction when the cilantro survives Friday.

Spring asparagus → Snap the woody ends, toss in olive oil and salt, roast at 425° for 12 minutes until tips just crisp — they'll smell like the earth waking up. Finish with lemon zest and shaved parmesan. Peak season is days away in most regions — buy local now, before the grocery markup catches up.

Window herb garden → Basil, parsley, and chives root in 4–6 weeks from seed in a $3 soil mix; one seed packet costs less than a single grocery store bunch. Total investment: under $10. Grows indefinitely. Every plant you grow is a dollar that doesn't go to a corporation.

Pantry pasta e fagioli — feeds 4, under 10 minutes: Olive oil, 3 garlic cloves, 1 can cannellini beans, 1 can diced tomatoes, 2 cups broth, 1 cup small pasta, Italian seasoning, salt. Sauté garlic one minute, add everything, simmer eight minutes. Seven ingredients. No apology. Dinner is not a performance.

Life Survival: Action

"The only queer people are those who don't love anybody." — ALOK Vaid-Menon, gender-nonconforming writer and performer, Beyond the Gender Binary, 2020.

Moving forward — your armor for today: The conversion therapy architects built their industry the same decade Kameny tore down its clinical justification. That is this fight in miniature — we win something real, they build a new machine, we find each other and dismantle it again. The armor isn't optimism. It's knowing people with less than you did this before. Carry that.

Legends Of Our Time

Frank Kameny — Fired for being gay in 1957. Sued the federal government. Filed the first known gay civil rights petition in American history. Organized until the APA removed homosexuality from its diagnostic manual in 1973 — striking "disorder" from millions of lives with no money and no permission.

ALOK Vaid-Menon — 1.2 million followers. Beyond the Gender Binary in 40+ university curricula. Teaching the psychology of bodies and belonging in the cities where bathroom bills are trying to empty the streets.

Daniel Ellsberg — Released 7,000 pages of Pentagon Papers in 1971, exposed four administrations' lies, faced 115 years in prison. Joe Kent quit over Iran this morning. Ellsberg proved fifty years ago: they know before the first bomb drops.

Frank Kamey: Gay is Good

They saw the lie. Named it. Refused silence.
