I don’t mean to sound ignorant (and thank you for this in depth explanation) but am I right in thinking that basically what the nazis did to the Jewish, the Jewish (with U.S. help) are doing to the Palestinians? Aren’t we supposed to learn from history so we don’t repeat it?
I may be a LOLLA (little old lady living alone) and I don't get out much. Hell, I don't even own a TV. Which has nothing to do with getting out. But I am a terror on a laptop and I've been following Gaza for years. Silly me; I thought the "retaliation" of Israel could have maybe been justified in the short term. Yes, the 7 October attack was beyond awful. And Israel has a very long history of persecution. I get that. But good grief, Gertie, it's never ending! I would probably get arrested if some of the powers that be were to hear my opinion on the relentless massacre of innocent Palestinian civilians---men, women, children, babies. Am I antisemitic? No. Do I abhor needless bloodshed? Absolutely. But not everyone has a problem with death and destruction. This is the world we live in. Yes, I want to do something about it. But shit! I'm still a LOLLA. If I can do something, please let me know, short of cozying up to Netanyahu and telling him to fuck off, which wouldn't be particularly constructive.
