Wendy your extraordinary ability to communicate with us brightens my day. Hang in there, youβve got us. If just one person shows their goodness itβs you.
My son volunteers for the Trevor Project-another organization that helps trans people. You are doing a remarkable job informing people (even right wing jerks, βchristians,β etc) so donβt stop! We need to keep our voices going to fight for trans rights! Thanks for the articleβ¦sharing it with some βchristiansβ I know.
You are not wrong about this opinion. I often have laughed at the numerous iterations of pop culture used to engage in biblical study. E-sworg, G-sword, GnomeSword, all PC applications used to study the bible....strange how they use a weapon to validate it.
Isnβt it bizarre? But maybe not so bizarre, when we consider their βreligionβ was created by people who murdered its hero.
Let it be known: if I were to die from gun violence, I wouldnβt consider it a tribute for people to walk around with a little gun charm around their necks, preaching the gospel of Smith & Wesson.
I am pretty staunch against Christian extremism. And in the original article I had some greek and hebrew quoted references (but then I removed them as people get touchy about it). Honestly the hard right wings dont celebrate their text in quite the way it was intended, or acknowledge.
I hear that! But given that the text they use was cobbled together by the Roman establishment (that had killed their dude), it seems possible to me that perhaps the twisting of their dudeβs words was the whole point. What if that system isnβt broken, but is working exactly as intended?
Honestly, I see Luigi as a Christ figure. What if the powers that be ax him, then a bit later βoh shoot! We goofed! He was actually god! And here are his writings from prisonβ¦turns out theyβre all about how super duper the insurance industry is. Who knew! Long live Luigi! Hereβs a tiny insurance policy charm to wear around your neck in his honor!β
Oh Im fun in a biblical literacy argument, I just wasnt sure, specially after a comment made yesterday on the Anti-Communist post, that I was ready to drag that in here and face it head on. Im happy to engage in biblical discussions and point out how christians completely ignore, misinterpret and otherwise malign the entire nature of their "holy" text like fucking idiots.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility! https://i0.wp.com/demcastusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/unnamed-76.gif?resize=480%2C480&ssl=1
Thank you muchly , Julia.
I am visible.
I see you; I hear you. You are valued for who you are.
This was a great post.

You do me credit, NM. Often at a time in which I deserve none. But I am thankful regardless.

When is a sword not a sword? When itβs a cross.

Picking your battles is wise. And in case it isnβt clear, I agree with everything you said. Just riled up and riffing. π
This is why I love being a Pagan, our religion teaches acceptance no matter what.
For?
