This is great! If you haven't before, I NEED you to read, "When God Was A Woman" by researcher Merlin Stone. She spent 10yrs studying and lays out in the book the history of the purposeful stamping-out and re-writing of theology to erase the goddess-worship that prevailed prior to northern invaders who brought mono-theistic "mountain god" ideas. It's extremely eye-opening and no one talks about it. I'd love to see you connect the dots between that scholarship and the revision laid out here!π
This article was a lot to take in. I shared it on Facebook. I think more people need to read this!! Unfortunately I think Facebook buries a lot of what I share so it never floats up into peopleβs feeds. Plus the privacy settings for what I share is just to friends not public.
Mesopotamian literature is filled with stories of divine city-building and the establishment of civilization.β Reminds me of those fucktwads that want to build and control their own personal cities.

OK, I couldnβt help myself, but when I read this part ββAkkadian Bab-ilu (ππππ ), "Gate of God."β all I could hear in my head was Ricky Ricardo singing out Babalu!!! (I donβt know why but Iβve been making references to Ricky Ricardo catch phrases from I Love Lucy latelyβ¦.)
Fucking brilliant! I read the whole thing (burp!). I have to decide where to store it and whom to afflict with it.
The story doesn't end where you ended it. The Christians stole a lot too, and then the Muslims trashed it into the Quran. But the literary merit of these derivative efforts does not keep up with the Bible. Of course they were much rushed.
Enki and Ninhursag would make perfect cat namesππββ¬. No sign of that happening anytime soon since currently there are five cats already residing in my house.πΈ
Amazing work! π That was a great read. Well-researched. Thank you for this!
Excellent posting. Thank you.
Ps, who knew there was a cuneiform font available?? You did.

I always just heard the stories, I never thought deeply on where the stories were derived. Thanks for giving substance/background.

Oh thereβs more coming
Itβs a 26 parter to get it all done.
And could go longer.
Good! I will find a safe place to store it. How do you know it's 26 parts? I suppose you have an outline!

I can imagine you out in the garden calling "Enki!... Ninhursag!" and a booming voice answers from the heavens... ππ
