You know what keeps me up at night: How close are we to watching the last gasps of American democracy get choked out by the very hands we elected to protect it?
No better use of animation than to introduce a cartoon character pretendsident and how that pretendsident is actually not pretending to destroy our garden. The cry for help is from every corner. The lack of help is deafening.
Yeah what do we do? I’m scared to even send a fucking email to my congresspersons for fear of retribution (really doubt anyone would actually bother with me). There was the big no kings day and other stuff but there are nevertheless National Guard troops (needlessly) on the streets of the capital and orange felon is rolling ahead completely unabated. My husband and I are ok economically for now but we are busy with life and just reading all the daily outrages has me exhausted. Should I learn how to make Molotov cocktails and head to Washington? The leaders we elected to protect our interests range from ineffective to complicit. I guess I should get over myself and at least help register people to vote and donate to NPR. If that’s too taxing imagine what waiting in bread lines is gonna be or going to a fucking concentration camp.
Wendy, there is a lot of passion in your post. That is good. It means you have not given up yet. Keep up the good fight. The dancing frog brought flashbacks to my youth in the 1970s, watching Bugs Bunny cartoons, and seeing Michigan J. Frog sing and dance to "Hello, Ma Baby". Thank you for that.

Phineas J. Frog to play us out of TRUMPSTEIN.
Bingo.....Doc.
I'm so depressed, I'm not really functional today. Tomorrow I plan to self medicate (no details will be provided.) Take care.
We are all there, Ellen. Self medicating as we speak.
Me thinks the billionaires & multi-millionaires have a severe addiction issue that borders &/or crosses into a hoarding neurosis.
Wow thank you! Love your use of language! As I’ve been feeling, with you saying it loud and clear!

Excellent piece, Wendy!
I meant to say this up above, but I didn't really read it, just skimming.
tRump's tax policy and tariffs are extremely regressive. He is responsible for single handedly dry boning his maga base.
Excellent piece as usual Wendy!
It’s scary (and triggering AF) how closely the pattern of this regime follows the pattern in an abusive marriage (mine).
Jesus, hang in there. Any chance of getting out? Wish you well.
The big question is, what the hell do we do now to stop it? Sharing this gem, of course.
Protest, donate, talk to neighbors, VOTE.

I think all you need is a glass coke bottle, gasoline and a rag, but I've never seen one.
Not a good martini but a great cocktail.
I was moved to draw some sketch graphs to illustrate the unknown rate of slide when a country is falling into autocracy

Your analysis is devastatingly good, as always, and your writing is so creative and powerful. Thank you 🙏
Thank you much, Jennifer.
Well written and it hits the nail squarely on the head… now print it out and send it to your local paper.

Frightening, a reality that’s outside our door right now!
