Your article Persian History is an excellent read. The country has been abused for centuries, and had to learn to adapt to survive their place on the global map. It is truly sinister what that Orange Bag of Limp Dicks (along with his sideshow of broken brains of a cabinet), decided to drop bombs without congress and Nato. Nobody in that circle jerk of idiots has knowledge regarding international affairs, going to war, ending a war, the history of Iran, history of the Middle East, and global diplomacy. A severe miss fire. Much appreciated Wendy 💙🏳️‍🌈💛💜

Very interesting. I wonder if Trump read in on this? Just kidding.

Their leaders think in centuries, and ours don't know what they are doing next week!

I went to school and tech college with many Persian students in the mid 1950s, and have always admired them. They were always interesting, often fun and surprisingly irreverent.

I know a good many Iranian / Persian persons, and I can say, they are the most delightful and insightful of people. More upsetting even, is the fact that bombing tehran means destroying some of this worlds MOST beautiful architecture. Not that the US cares.

I feel like I am on a tour bus to hell. I thought I got on the one to Graceland.

Great history lesson on Persian culture.

Good overview of recent Persian/Iranian history but why leave out the centuries, nay millenia almost, of the pre-Islam Persians, Cyrus the Great et al? They've been at the crossroads of Asia for a long, long time.

Because I had a book that only covered the history of that time. I dont assume anything that I cannot put my hands on and read, typically.

Whew! What a refreshing dose of learning so early in the morning! And the commenters are also brilliant. I feel like a Little House on the Prairie school kid who just woke up at Harvard. And I'd bet my kitty's favorite toy that Diaper Dump and the Big Cs (Congress and Cabinet) don't know squat about any of it. It's going to get interesting. Hell, it's already interesting. And it's only Monday.

Always enjoy your writing; I think about the eternal repression of women and other marginalized groups within a culture and that, no matter their patience and outcomes, they continue to be tyrannized from within.
