Who needs queer fiction when queer fact is available in all its swashbuckling energy? All these historical snippets need to be in a published book so it's available to any and all who need the information. Of course it will be banned before it even hits the market but not everywhere and definitely not by everyone.

Now that’s a catechism of queer defiance. Anne’s life reads like a sutra for anyone sick of being handed false choices: respectability or freedom, safety or authenticity, one box or another.

And I love the reminder that chosen kinship and unapologetic joy are ancient ritesβ€”older than the ink on any law meant to erase them.

Here’s to those who live with cutlass and open heart, then and now.

I love this story so much! Too bad it was not available to all of us in our youth.
