Terrific piece.

It’ll be really interesting to see when the photos come out showing these little bullets that a 22-year old gamer suspect took the time to etch these words into “If you read this you are gay LMAO”. It will be even more interesting to see if there is one they haven’t reported yet where he painstakingly etched “my name is inigo mentoya, you killed my father, prepare to die”. If there is another little bullet bearing the epic poem Beowulf, how incredible would that be? Pretty incredible. It’ll be great to see the photos, or lifelike sketches, whatever can be produced.

A lot of people can agree to despise Nick Fuentes. The strongest evidence so far that he had a hand in this operation, even though he has tried to tweet that he is being framed, seems to be the expose published in the NYT the day before the shooting explaining exactly why he and his groypers (that most NYT readers are otherwise oblivious to) would want to target Kirk in general. Super helpful background, and just in time to give readers their perspective.

Even though Mr. Kirk will no longer be able to advocate for his most recent obsession, releasing the Epstein pedo-files (something Fuentes has also called for), we can hope that his widow Kirk will continue his work in that space with passion.

Rants of naked truth; eloquent, informative, classical and colloquial. The clamped jaw of the vicious truth dog on the leg of terrorizing hypocrisy.

And i she speaks, believe it or not, to the unnamed, straight, white boomer males who had brushes with life- threatening tyranny — FBI guys in actual trenchcoats at rallies and emerging from Standard Issue Crown Vics to nab accused draft dodgers who hadn’t made it to Canada yet so they could go to die in Vietnam Jungles. Or come back as Sam Stone. We have had to hide and had to speak out. Kent State happened. They opened fire on unarmed and unsuspecting innocents. Killed by govt soldiers. Cold blooded murder..

It’s inspiring to hear the mindful, raging insight. Wendy is a spiritual warrior, not totally of this world. For me, a place of solidarity and solace.

Been there, done that. I remember my first FBI agents, in October 1965. You could tell them by their brown leather lace-up shoes. Several of my high school friends have been Canadian citizens since the Seventies.

J.K. Rowling, that darling of the Blair era in Britain. Friends with Peter Mandelson and connections to the Brit expat community that witnessed the disappearance of child Maddy McCann. What a beacon of duplicitous shit that multi millionairess is. Cognitively dissonant seeing her publicly align with the Project 2025 christo fascists. I remember when part of her global PR machine made her famous for being victimised by the very same for her cringingly bad kid’s magic books. Always suggest Diana Wynn Jones for the real thing. Look behind their curtain.

‘That’s why they need to blame us - because our existence proves their ideology [and therein their personal wealth] is built on nothing but fear and hatred’. A truth to remember.

Cringingly bad? My family and I loved them, and also the first two movies, the others not quite so much.

Wendy! Try not to suggest I listen to something over an hour long just as the 49ers game is starting! I woke up late this morning because I was watching Cal beating MN last night. I know this isn't rugby, but it's this best I can do... I'll listen later.

Perfection as usual!

Off topic, but I'm looking for direction from the group--I have a female trans friend who I knew before she became herself--we worked together and there are a couple of things that happened at work that I talk about. When relating those stories do I use her dead name and gender (which make more sense in terms of the story), or do I speak of her correctly, or do I not talk about those things any more? I only bring up those stories because they are about how horrible our former workplace was, and it helps me to speak with a therapist about them to try to help myself. On the other hand, even if she isn't there I don't want to put something out in the world like that.

Best to ask herself - but most trans people would want you to use their current name and gender when telling those stories. Most of us feel we have always been that gender - it's only those outside who get to see a "change".

Be careful not to out her to people to whom she wouldn't want to be outed.

This is fair. Thank you for taking the time to offer your advice on this. I was going to say "I don't assume that she would mind..." but obviously, we all know what happens when we assume!

She's always been such a good friend to me, and I want to be a good friend to her, so on one hand I didn't want to risk hurting her by asking, but then you've made me think about how if she's a good friend it would be more disrespectful to avoid asking her something.

I thought about if it were me--I would think my friends would ASK if they had any questions. Again, as I said to Hannah, I appreciate your taking the time.

Even as I was typing the question I felt stupid--just do what she would want you to do and ask HER if you have a question. It was more something that just needed to get out of my head, if that makes sense. I should have just written out a note to myself. But I thank you for your advice!
