Help me out, please. How did those 4 assholes know that Phoenix was something other than what she presented as? I have known one trans woman. I didn't know she was when I first met her and wouldn't have guessed if I hadn't been told later. I'm guessing that trans individuals go to a lot of trouble to present as they believe themselves to be. I'm sure that I have passed trans on the street and never given them a second look. What is the tip-off that makes trans so visible to people who want them to disappear? Or is it all tranny-hate bullshit that makes people see what they want to hate whether it's there or not?
The sickening truth is that transphobes develop predatory skills - they train themselves to spot tells that most decent humans would never notice or care about. Sometimes it’s pure hate-fueled paranoia, seeing “signs” that don’t exist because they desperately want to find someone to target.

Finally were beginning to make headway when Trump got into office and is trying to reverse it all. Police Departments are more effective when they reflect the community they serve. We've been changing what had been the norm: cis white conservative Christian males. We were finally getting away from that and now he's trying to take us back to that. We've all had negative encounters but painting all with the same brush is wrong.
