As a nation, we played "eye-for-an-eye", for decades. Now the whole world is blind, and we're surprised? Gimme a break!

I felt sick watching this circus, as usual no substance nothing to stop the carnage. Trump is a powerless weak dipshit.

That pretty well summarizes where we stand today. We are fucked. This will lead to WW III and the apocalypse envisioned in the Mad Max films!

Trump wants Putin to have Crimea AND Ukraine must never join NATO.🤪🤣

Right, with is BULLSHIT. Ukraine SHOULD be in NATO. So that it keeps Putin "honest". Not that hes capable of that.

Is there any more? When I was a kid, my father used to read this (slightly different words) to my brother and me every April 18.

You can do a search. All I've managed to memorize is, "Listen my children and your shall here of the midnight ride of Paul Revere. Twas the 18th of April in'75" Somewhere in there is "One if by land and two if by sea and I on the opposite shore will be ready to ride and spread the alarm to every something something . . . . "

There's some punctuation in there but I don't know it. Anyway, search The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. And wasn't that too much information. Have a lovely day.

This sort of thing is the best argument for having Ukraine join NATO ASAP. Zelenskii's posse is basically NATO even though the trumpery is ALSO a NATO member (at least, the USA is). Russia will remain a threat, always. As for trumpery, he always believes the last person he spoke with, which explains his enthusiastic support for the Ruzzian aggression. Maybe a lot of strong statements by the rest of the meeting will take over the tiny brain.

Expand full comment
Ellen Franzen's avatar

I didn't really notice that. Ukraine should be in NATO NOW. The US should be tossed out. We are of no use to anyone.

Expand full comment
Sandra Greer's avatar

NATO has rules regarding new members. They resemble the rules about buying insurance: a new member must not be in a war. This is to prevent countries joining just when they would require NATO participation.

As for the US, we are the ONLY member who has called on NATO to support us. And we have a lot of weapons and surveillance available to NATO.

I can understand the rationale, but what about russia winning in Ukraine if they don't get help, and going on to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and Poland? I think it would be everyone's advantage to stop russia now, before they run out of NK troops and start bringing in Iranian troops. If I were Britain, France and Germany, I'd put a stop to it right now. Besides, what about all the stuff Ukraine gave up in 1994?

Zelensky is bringing his posse and Turdalump has no one backing. The EU leaders might be hemming and hawing about Zelensky and Putin (they don't want war in all of Europe) but they all have one other thing in common...THEY ALL HATE TRUMP and JD isn't there to help Shitzinpants bully Zelensky. Plus the leaders wouldn't let him if he was. They hate him too. But we shall see what happens.

Agreed. I am not so pessimistic but as you say, "we shall see."

I've been wrong before. I was completely flabbergasted by the fact that 47 won! I really believed that voters would understand what was at stake and still they went to the stinky con man, drank his cheese-flavored Koolaid and put on the Red Hat.

They didn't win jack shit. This was the first that a candidate got ZERO votes in swing states. Fuckshizzle won by 1.5 % not by a landslide as he claims!!! A woman running was the only reason he won and 90,000,000 voters sitting out/not voting for POTUS didn't help.

Not only "a woman" running but a (egads) smart, mouthy, NON-WHITE woman running with an infectious laugh like a hyena (they thought; many Dems thought delicious). NO they would/could put up with that.

100% my man. There was no mandate at all. I know people who couldn't be bothered to vote. Nothing was convenient enough for them and no argument could sway them. They said "it's all a scam anyway!"

Of course I found out later that some (including one of my siblings) used that excuse to justify voting for the cheeto-scumbag. My sibling told me with no sense of irony that they voted to "stop the madness."

Mmmm, this new Koolaid has hints of Aged Cheddar. I'll have another one!

Can't tell you how bitter I am about it seeing as they live in Europe bragging about 6 weeks paid vacay and low, low medical bills while decrying "immigrants," "socialism"and "DEI" (even though we are black, I'm older, born in 1960, they know my backstory and what I went thru).

So another person lost because they don't like an intellectual solution. They want drama and action. The answer can't be right if you don't FEEEEL IT and those pesky facts won't do what I want them to!

That's why "stop the steal" worked so well on them. Explaining that elections are controlled by the states and each one has a somewhat unique method of doing so according to their state constitution just doesn't get the endorphines and dopomine going.

And of course, we can't forget the authoritarian streak with it's aura of suppressed violence. They love that. Eat it up with a spoon.

It's why people like you and I MUST talk people into voting to change all the damage the MAGA fuckwads are going to cause. 2024 I told everyone about project 2025 and how fucked up things were going to get. I also told them about the government going after people from other countries. They all voted and they showed me the sticker they got for voting or they could have picked them out of the garbage to trick me. 2026 is even more important now!!! Get the word out!!!
