When I was a sweet young thing just out of nursing school, I submitted an application to a local hospital. I remember listing my qualifications, most of which had to do with HEALTH CARE. No, I was not a heavy duty MEDICAL PERSON but I did know a little about HEALTH CARE because I had studied it. Anatomy, diseases, pharmacology, stuff like that. In fact, I pretty much depended on my education and yearly classes to keep up with changes in the field for my whole career. Just wondering, what are RFK's qualifications? Am I being too picky here?

I appreciate your bringing in the various thinkers/writers on cognition and philosophy! Love that. Ps, when RFK used to be on a lefty radio show 20+ years ago with another lefty guy, he seemed pretty coherent. Makes me more certain his cognitive situation is a pathology of some sort. He went way (further?) off the rails! Also appreciate the conceptual framework of the ultra-privileged tending to be at greater risk of losing all connection to reality (the one that most of us deal with). It reminds me of the insular, crazy mindsets of Musk, Trump, Lutnick and others... Wow.

When the guardians of public health are cannonballing into raw sewage and calling it wisdom, the rot has reached the bone. This is not eccentricity, it is epistemic collapse paraded as populism. The empire is not just naked, it is proudly wallowing in its own filth. The task now is to remember that truth is not a matter of taste, no matter how many conspiracies they try to season it with.

My dad, who was a middle-of-the road PhD fisheries biologist, would never let us swim, wade, or play in the contaminated water that is present very commonly in creeks. He knew his water! And we had all possible vaccinations that were available at the time.

He would have spat on the mentally defective health appointee. There was already too much political garbage in academia and politics, and too little respect for science.

Can we send suggestions for DSM VI? As in a "Crazier Than A Shithouse Rat" diagnosis?? Then get Congress to write a 25-A amendment to remove people with that ailment. (It's my fantasy. I can make it be anything I want as long as I recognize it as a fantasy.)

Apologies to shithouse rats.
