Normally, empathy would be the appropriate response to someone who is demonstrating symptoms of advancing dementia. But this someone is a narcissistic sociopath with a black sharpie and the nuclear codes, both of which can be used to catastrophic effect. There has never been such a need for the 25th amendment to be implemented as there is today. Jake Tapper chose the wrong protagonist; he should have waited a few months for a far more suitable example.
